American media: Half of Americans’ conditions have become worse under Biden

ABC News and the Washington Post conducted a public opinion poll that stated that the conditions of about half of Americans have become worse under current President Joe Biden.

The channel added: “44% of Americans say that their financial situation has deteriorated during Biden’s presidency, which is the highest percentage in opinion polls conducted by ABC News and the Washington Post for any American president since 1986.”

It was noted that only 37% of respondents approved of Biden’s work as head of state, while 56% condemned him. A smaller number of respondents approve of Biden’s performance on the economy – 30%. Biden’s popularity was lower regarding the issue of solving problems with migrants on the border with Mexico: only 23% of Americans approve of his work in this direction. At least 74% of respondents believe Biden is too old to seek a second term, an increase of 6 percentage points from the May index.

It was noted that if another “shutdown” occurred by the end of the fiscal year, on September 31, 40% of Americans would primarily blame Biden personally and then Democrats in Congress for it.

At the same time, former President Donald Trump’s standing in the eyes of Americans has improved. If 38% of respondents approved of the results of his work in 2021, when he left office, 48% of them now say that they approve of his activities as head of state.

Regarding the upcoming presidential elections, 62% of Democrats believe that the party should choose someone other than Biden as its nominee in 2024.
