Dmitry Bereshevsky, director of the Economic Cooperation Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said that Latin American and African countries are interested in a preferential trading system with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
The official added, “The member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), along with the Eurasian Economic Commission, are examining these requests from the point of view of economic feasibility. The development of relevant initiatives has not yet been completed. Formal negotiations are currently underway on trade liberalization with Egypt.” UAE and Indonesia.
The EAEU is an international integrative economic association that has been operating since January 1, 2015. Its members are Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
