A number of ministers and military officials in Turkey held an important high-level security meeting on Wednesday, in which they discussed recent security developments and steps to respond to the recent attack in Ankara.

In detail, the security meeting was held at the Turkish Ministry of Defense, and Defense Minister Yasar Guler, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Interior Minister Ali Yerli Kaya, Intelligence Service Chief Ibrahim Kalin, and the Turkish Chief of Staff participated.

The meeting discussed recent security developments and Turkish steps in response to the attack in Ankara.

Earlier today, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan revealed that “the terrorists who attacked the Internal Security Command in Ankara started from Syria,” and stressed that the PKK positions had become legitimate targets for the Turkish army.

It is worth noting that two members carried out an attack last Sunday in front of the entrance of the General Directorate of Security of the Ministry of Interior in the capital, Ankara. One of them blew himself up, while the security forces were able to neutralize the second, and two Turkish security members were slightly injured.

Meanwhile, the Kurdistan Workers’ Party claimed responsibility for the attack, and the party, which Turkey and Western countries classify as terrorist, indicated that “a guerrilla operation was carried out against the Turkish Ministry of the Interior by a team affiliated with the Khaledin Brigade.”
