Palestinian team is in the ninth group for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers

The Palestinian football team finished in Group Nine, along with Australia and Lebanon, and the winner of the match between the Maldives and Bangladesh, in the qualifying draw for the 2026 World Cup and the 2027 Asian Cup.

Al-Fedai will play its first match in the qualifiers away from home on November 16, with Lebanon. While he will play the second match at home and among his fans against the Australian national team on the 21st of the same month.

The rest of the group matches will be completed during the next year 2024.

The 36 teams participating in the qualifiers were divided into 9 groups, with the first and second from each group qualifying for the final stage.

In the context of his preparations for this Asian and international competition, as well as for the 2023 Asian Nations Championship, which will be held in Qatar early next year, the first fedayeen will play two friendly matches, the first with Oman on September 6, and the second with Vietnam on the 11th.

Next October, the national team will participate in the “Mardica” Cup, which will be held in Malaysia with the semi-final and final system.

Lebanon and India will participate in this friendly tournament, in addition to the host team (Malaysia).

The semi-finals will be played on October 13, and the match for third and fourth places, and the final match, will be played on October 17.

As for the preparations for the 2023 Asian Cup, it is scheduled that Al-Fidai will conduct an external camp, which will include several friendly matches, as a friendly match has been programmed with the Uzbekistan national team, and work is underway to schedule other meetings, according to the Football Association.
