Eurozone economy shrinks by 0.1% in third quarter

Economic growth in the eurozone fell in the third quarter of 2023, official data showed Tuesday, weighed down by its largest economy, Germany.

The EU’s official data agency said the 20-country single currency zone’s economy shrank by 0.1 percent over the July-September period, after recording only 0.2 percent growth in the second quarter.

Analysts expected the eurozone economy to stagnate in the third quarter.
