Somalia: The Prime Minister praises the private sector and its role in developing the economy

Somali Prime Minister, Hamza Abdi Barre, said that the private sector is of great importance in the growth of the country’s economy.

Speaking at the conference on enhancing the country’s production held in Mogadishu, the Prime Minister added that businessmen play a very important role in developing the country’s economy as 90% of them are taxpayers who have a good role in the government’s income.

The Prime Minister indicated that the government is committed to encouraging and supporting the private sector, searching for and directing markets, and enacting laws for private companies as they are the backbone of the growth of the country’s economy, saying: “If we are talking about the economy, then we are talking about a free market, so it is necessary that we highlight private companies, We support and protect it, establish laws for it, and then search for new markets.”
